Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I need a guide to go into Nature and receive the healing benefits?

A: You don’t! Not necessarily. But if you are like many of us, you might find that you spend the vast majority of your Nature-time solving problems, running through to do lists or ruminating on stories that are no longer serving you. Nature therapy is structured in such a way to help us slow down, come into our senses and be present with the Nature surrounding us.

Q: Is this “therapy”?

A: Not in the typical way we think of therapy. It can be healing and, as such, has therapeutic value across physical, emotional and spiritual realms. When these benefits are received, it is because of your unique experience in relationship with Nature. The guide is not practicing therapy with you, but rather is simply there to hold space and “open the door”.‍ ‍

Q: Is there scientific evidence of this “healing” effect?

A: Yes, and the data is compelling! Benefits range from the obvious like stress reduction to the more surprising realms including boosting the immune system and regulating your blood pressure. Click HERE for more information!

Q: What about the weather?

A: Weather is a part of Nature and, when prepared with the right clothing, etc. the weather can add to the experience. That being said, I will reschedule walks when there are extreme weather events including wind or dangerous road conditions.

Q: Do you guide walks for couples or groups?

A: Yes! Please reach out to me by email to discuss private walks for friends, couples or groups. And keep your eyes out for retreats coming in 2027!

Q: How long is a Nature Therapy walk?

A: Times vary but typically I like to offer a 3 hour walk for maximum slowing down and benefit.

Q: Where do walks take place?

A: Most of my walks take place in parks and open space areas of Louisville, Colorado. Occasionally, there will be a walk in the greater Boulder County area - including the foothills.

Q: I have physical limitations. Is this a a hike or otherwise physically strenuous?

A: Nature therapy is accessible to nearly everyone. It can be done sitting the whole time, if need be, but most often involves slow walks with plenty of breaks.

Q: Are dogs welcome?

A: From time to time my dog, Murphy, will join us (as long as all participants are comfortable with dogs). At this time, I am not allowing dogs on the walks.
